Great for Sous-Vide, But Don't Toss Your Hand Peeler Yet

"The Thermomix® Blade Cover & Peeler is a brilliant multi-tool in theory, but in practice, the peeling function comes with some distinct limitations. As a blade cover for slow cooking or sous-vide, it works flawlessly, protecting delicate ingredients from getting shredded. However, when it comes to the peeler mode, it never peels perfectly. It consistently leaves behind patches of residue and skin, meaning you'll almost always have to do a quick pass with a hand peeler afterward to clean things up. The biggest catch is the geometry of your food. The spinning friction design really only works well when the vegetables are almost perfectly rounded (like small, uniform potatoes). If you throw in bumpy, irregular, or elongated root vegetables, it misses large sections entirely. It still saves a decent amount of effort if you are prepping bulk batches of round potatoes or carrots, but manage your expectations, it's a helpful assistant, not a total replacement for manual prep."
